    Work party at Croft Close Set-aside

    Abbey Fields is holding one of its regular work parties at Croft Close Set-aside on Monday 29th January from 10.30am to 12pm.

    All work parties will have a mix of activities, from light trimming to heavier manual work so there should be something for most. Starting at the Croft Close entrance to the Set-aside.

    Please register in advance by emailing sitemanagers@abbeyfields.online. This allows us to let you know if the work party has to be cancelled, and also to ask you, if you can, to bring specific tools to suit the planned tasks.

    Please come dressed for the weather, with long sleeves, gloves and, if possible, a hi-viz gilet or jacket. Secateurs and loppers will always be handy.

    Form the Future is holding an Apprenticeships Careers Fair on Tuesday 30th January at Impington Village College.

    Histon and Impington Village Society is holding a talk on Tuesday 30th January from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church and on Zoom.

    The talk is entitled “Exploring Cambridgeshire Churches” by John E Vigar.

    An afternoon of activities for all ages to connect. 2-3.30pm every two weeks on the Recreation Ground.

    Activities will include:

    • Board and Card Games + puzzles
    • Indoor Games
    • Trishaw rides (weather permitting)

    £4 Cost per session including tea & cake.

  • Proclamation Reading

    At 4.00 pm on Sunday, 11 September, on the Green, our Parish Council Chairman Denis Payne will read the Proclamation for our villages. The Proclamation was read at St James’s Palace London, that officially announced Prince Charles as our new King, Charles III. This Proclamation is now taken up and read in many parts of the UK – different times today and tomorrow according to the seniority of the area, so nations first, then counties, cities and so on.

    Please do come along if you can and be part of making history in our villages. God save the King.

    Instanda, an insurance software provider based on the Vision Park, are recruiting for 7 roles including these.

    Software Engineer (.Net 6) to start work on their new Microservices and React platform. Reporting to the Development Lead, you will be working as part of an agile team, building an industry changing SaaS platform using the latest technologies.

    Software Engineer (ASP.Net) to work as part of an agile team building working with our wider technology team including Testing, Business Analysts and our Configuration team.

    Info Sec Manager to play a direct role in protecting, educating, and future-proofing against some of the most dynamic and advanced threats.

    Software Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain the QA Automation framework for each feature under development and ensure we run the right tests at the right level.

    Platform Service Manager to oversee the client facing Platform Service team, including mentoring, coaching and owning the quality of the service provided. Also management of Training and Documentation for clients, escalations and service improvement will fall under the remit of this role.

    Performance Test Engineer to collaborate with Business Analysts and Development teams to define performance test plans and cases, coordinate the creation of performance testing environment and conduct performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.

    Software Test Engineer to collaborate with Business Analysts and Development teams to define Acceptance Criteria. Actively participate in all phases of software development lifecycles. Analyse requirements, plans, prepare test cases and test scenarios and execute manual tests.

    Validation Engineer – Contractor (up to 4 months) Working within the strategic projects team supporting the program manager to deliver validation of a new MES software system. To specify and oversee validation activities of a new software system and modify, review, and create Validation Documents, Quality Plans, Specifications, Test Specifications, Validation Reports.

    Resourcing Specialist to personally manage a high volume of technical vacancies, whilst working alongside the wider People Team, coaching and supporting them to ensure best recruitment practices.

    Clinical Data Engineer to build creative and world-class solutions to clinical data management problems, deliver clinical data management project and bring experience of clinical data management solutions to the clinical data team.

    Clinical Development Engineer to co-ordinate, develop, deliver and document laboratory-based pre-clinical exploration and validation studies. Develop and deliver Clinical Evaluation activities across the clinical development pathway including pre-clinical and clinical studies to provide evidence for regulatory submissions.

    Test Development Manager to manage the day to day running of the test engineering function, taking overall responsibility for process development, validation and New Product Introduction.

    Service and Support Engineer to assist in directing field activities such as up-grades and rollouts, rolling out these improving processes into the field, and liaising with external/third party organisations to assist them in doing the same.

    Business Support Assistant to support the Business services team with hands-on admin tasks and other duties to keep it running efficiently as well as looking after reception, hospitality, travel, purchasing, maintenance.
