  • Geological Society Talk

    Monday 9th June from 7.30pm at the Saint Andrew’s Centre.

    Landscapes and environments of long ago by Mike Tuke. How geologists determine ancient environments, illustrated by an accompanying collection of rocks which provide evidence of some of he typical features of those environments. An excellent introduction to geology and how the characteristics of various rocks reveal the earth’s history and how landscapes are formed.

    The Cambs Geological Society meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month. An hourly talk on matters pertaining to geology, both local and global. Talks are expected to be accessible to all with or without a knowledge of geology.

    The hall is open from 7pm for refreshments for a 7.30pm start.

    Unravelling the glacial history of Eastern England by Prof Phil Gibbard, Dept of Geography, University of Cambridge.
