  • Animal Lanterns Workshop

    The Library Presents is holding a workshop at Histon Library on Sunday 11th December from 2 – 4pm.

    Lantern Festivals are celebrated throughout the world. As the days get darker, it’s good to make the most of this darkness with a special lantern. Join this workshop for families with children over 3 to make animal lanterns with paper plates, card, tissue and dough, then  take walk in the darkness, lit by your lantern.

  • HILF Book Sale

    Histon and Impington Library Friends are holding a book sale on Saturday 12th November on the Village Green.

    Books can be donated from 9.30am with the sale starting at 10am and finishing at 12pm.

    Histon Library is holding an Engage session entitled “My Life in Music” on Wednesday 16th November from 2-3.30pm.

    Gila Margolin will sing her favourite selection of songs from the 60s and Jewish music.

  • Short Comics Workshop

    Histon Library is hosting a short comics hands-on workshop on Wednesday 26th October from 1pm – 3pm.

    Join local author and illustrator Tonka Uzu to create your own short comic story. For ages 10-13.

  • Engage HIAG Talk

    Histon and Impington Archaeology Group is holding a talk at Histon Library on Wednesday 19th October from 2 – 3.30pm.

    The talk is entitled “Archaeological Excavations in the grounds of Impington Village College 2019-21”.

    Suggested donation £2 towards refreshments and future speakers.

  • “Room” at Histon Library

    The Library Presents is putting on a performance at Histon Library on Friday 18th November from 7 – 8.45pm.

    A witty, relevant and provocative dramatisation of Virginia Woolf’s A Room Of Ones Own by Emul8 Theatre, suitable for adults and children of 12 and over.

    Tickets: Pay what you think £2 – £10.

  • Book Sale

    Histon and Impington Library Friends (HILF) are holding a book sale on Saturday 8th October from 10am to 12pm on the Green.

    A great collection of adults’ and children’s books at pocket money prices or make us an offer. HILF is fundraising to support events and facilities at Histon Library.

    HILF would be pleased to hear from volunteers available on the second Saturday morning of the month. Tasks include moving boxes of books and tables by car within the village, lifting boxes of books, setting up and packing away books or just selling.

  • Abbey Fields – Our Haven for Nature

    Histon Library is holding a talk about Abbey Fields on Wednesday 17th August from 2 – 3.30pm.

    John Pavey will be talking about Abbey Fields, comprising Long Meadow and Croft Close Set Aside, areas being kept for local people to enjoy, to savour their serenity and to connect with nature.

  • Kinetic Science

    Histon Library are holding a Library Lab Science event on Wednesday 24th August from 2pm.

    Come along for a fun science session in the Library. Open to children age 6+ (£5 per child).

    There are limited spaces, so advance booking and payment at the library is required.

    Parents and carers to stay with their children.
