  • A History of Madingley Hall Gardens

    On Tuesday 26th October at 7.30 there will be a talk on A History of Madingley Hall Gardens by Richard Gant, Head Gardener on Zoom

    Richard Gant joined the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Continuing Education at Madingley Hall in 1988 and, as a formidable plantsman and all-round horticulturalist, he has overseen many changes and developments to the garden. He will talk on the development and history of the gardens, including its historical link to Histon Manor .

  • Gardening Staff – Strictly Daylilies

    Strictly Daylilies who are specialists in the growing and sale of hemerocallis based in Histon are looking to expand their seasonal gardening staff. Previous experience not necessary but you do need a good attitude with the desire to learn.  Working days Monday thru Thursday with flexible hours. Pay £9.50 per hour.

  • Grounds Maintenance Operative

    Grounds Maintenance workers are needed at a landscape/grounds maintenance company in Histon. The agency doing the recruiting say they have two jobs that will be made permanent after a successful probation period and one seasonal job that will run until around the end of October. The duties are lawn cutting, litter picking, lawn mowing, strimming lawns and edges, defining lawn edges, hedge cutting, weed control, using ride on mowers (not essential), using plant machinery and powered tools and other general landscape labour duties as directed by the supervisor.

  • Operational Team – Parish Council

    The closing date for applications has been extended to Friday 20th March.

    Histon & Impington Parish Council are looking for an Assistant Parish Ranger and an Assistant Parish Groundperson as part of their Operational Team. The Operational Team works to keep our village clean, safe and tidy, as well as maintaining and improving sporting and recreational facilities.

    The two roles are 15 hours per week or could be combined into a 30 hour per week post. The Parish Council is flexible depending on applicants. The salary is £9.58 per hour.
