Histon Manor will be hosting a further Open Garden this year combined with a Dahlia Show and Cake Competition on Sunday 11th September in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. They hope to have a relaxed local show on a small scale and would love to see as many residents supporting this as possible, for a wander around the gardens, to a critical eye over the dahlia entries and stop for tea and cake. (Please note the event isn’t a display of dahlias in the manor gardens, dahlias to view are the competition entries.) They are planning for some guest speakers for those who are interested in growing cut flowers and an expert judge.
Entry: £2.00 (Under 16s free of charge)
Location: 20 Park (Lane Corner of Bell Hill and Park Lane)
Histon Manor is hosting a Flower Arranging Workshop on Saturday 10th September from 10.30am to 12.30pm in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
In the run up to the first Histon and Impington Dahlia Show on the 11th September, we are delighted to announce a wonderful opportunity to take part in a workshop run by Bridget Davidson of Wild Rosamund the preceding day.
Keeping to the theme, Bridget will help you master the art of working with dahlias and other blooms to make a beautiful arrangement. The event will take place at Histon Manor and you are welcome to explore the grounds before or after the session. Tea and homemade cake will be provided and there will be plenty of time to ask questions. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those more advanced as the group will kept small to allow support to all.
