  • Easter Beer Festival

    The Red Lion is holding a Beer Festival from the evening of Thursday 6th April through until the evening of Monday 10th April.

    Serving up over 18 real ales from the local area including IVO, Papworth brewery, Nene valley and Oakham. Pizza shed firing from 5-9pm on Thursday and Friday, and all day on Saturday. BBQ, Easter Sunday set menu and an adult Easter egg hunt.

    Saturday and Sunday evenings will see music from Carla Gray and the Moses Carter Band. Keep an eye on Red Lion Social media for full details.

  • Easter Book Trail

    Histon Library is running an Easter Book Trail which will be in place from Saturday 1st until Sunday 16th April, supported by Histon and Impington Library Friends (HILF).

    Follow your own route on a map to find books about birds in windows around the village.

    Entry forms £1 from the library or Topiary Tree. Take your completed forms to the library by Friday 21st April and they will draw out the lucky winners of Easter eggs kindly donated by the Co Op.

    Open to all. Children must be accompanied.

  • Children’s April Nature Hunt on Long Meadow

    Abbey Fields is holding a Nature Hunt on Sunday 16th April from 10am to 12.30pm at Long Meadow, Park Lane.

    Also incudes a free Activity Tent with play doh for younger children, a range of delicious cakes and new Abbey Fields cards for sale.

    There will also be a small challenge for the whole family which you can start any time. Can you help us build up a poetry display by bringing along your poem(s) to add to our collection. We are looking for acrostic nature poems using the initial letters of the words ABBEY FIELDS or LONG MEADOW. Download instructions and a form to complete here. We will be adding poems to the display during the event so you can be inspired to write on the day too.

    We recommend that you walk in through the slightly wider entrance to Long Meadow opposite Melvin Way. Please come dressed for the weather and the rough grass. Note, there is no car parking here.

  • Easter Egg Hunt

    St Andrew’s Church Histon is holding an Easter Egg Hunt with bouncy castle on Easter Sunday from 2-4pm (Under 5s) and 4-6pm (Ages 6+).

    All families are welcome to join us on Easter Day for fun in the church garden. We’ve got Dotty the Donkey’s Easter Trail around the church yard, a bouncy castle and slide, making, playing and hunting for Easter eggs too. We’ll have a short story time before sharing out all the eggs we find. There will be tea and coffee too.

  • The Hope of Easter

    The five churches in Histon invite you to discover the Hope of Easter on Good Friday from 10am to 12pm.

    We have five different areas for you to explore on The Green, ending with Hot Cross Buns at the Methodist Church. There will be short stories told by characters in the Easter story, things to do, make and play with. 

    All are welcome.

  • Kawaii Kubs Easter Eggstravaganza

    Kawaii Kubs have an Easter Eggstravaganza on Sunday 17th April at the Royal British Legion Hall.

    Play a bunnies digging for carrots game, make a spring lamb to take home, explore the sensory Easter play tray and decorate a giant craft Easter egg. Take your Easter pictures at the photo corner and finish with bubbles and a bunny bop.

  • Easter Treasure Hunt

    Histon and Impington Green Spaces Charity have organised an Easter Treasure Hunt on Saturday 16th April at Long Meadow, Park Lane.

    Pop along any time between 10am and 12.30 pm to explore Long Meadow and solve fun clues to win a chocolate treat. Entry to the Treasure Hunt will be £3 per child. Children can also help to build a model flower meadow.

    There will also be a stall with homemade cakes and volunteers on hand to tell you more about what is happening at both Long Meadow and Croft Close Set Aside. See www.abbeyfields.online for more information.

  • Easter Craft Fun

    Ladybirds playgroup are holding an Easter craft session on 1st April from 3.15 – 5pm at the Histon Salvation Army Hall.

    There will be crafts, baking and an egg hunt. Refreshments available.

  • Impington Sports Centre Easter Holiday Activities

    Impington Sports Centre is running a range of activities over the Easter holidays as well as Monstrous Fun holiday club.

    Determinator pool inflatable on Thursdays 7th and 14th April.

    Trampolining, swimming, diving, rookie lifeguard and synchronised swimming sessions.

  • Easter Family Event

    HI Churches Together are hosting an Easter family event on Good Friday from 10am to 2pm at Histon Baptist Church.

    The activities will gently relate to and explore the story of Easter in a way that is friendly to children and those who are not so familiar with the events of the first Easter. There will be a variety of activities that suit different ages and interests including games, crafts, baking, prayer/reflection space and film to watch.

    Everyone is welcome, whatever your beliefs or faith.
