Camtrust, a leading charity dedicated to empowering adults with learning disabilities through tailored training programmes, announces its upcoming Open Day on Wednesday 9th July. The event will take place at the Camtrust centre in Impington, between 10am and 2pm, offering a warm invitation to all members of the community.
Guests are invited to explore the Camtrust centre, including its vibrant garden and innovative workshops, showcasing the achievements and talents of its clients.

Part-time Tutor to provide teaching and support to adults with learning disabilities and enable them to: gain maximum benefit from the programme and practical activities; be socially included within their peer group; gain work and independent living skills. Areas of work are varied e.g., centre-based activities including skills for life, work experience such as IT, catering, gardening, retail, arts and crafts, bicycle maintenance plus social and living skills.
Fixed term for 12 months (24 hours per week). Closing date 16/05/25.

Local charity, Camtrust has recently been awarded £1,500 by the committee behind Histon Beer Festival. The money will go towards repairing the felt roof of a workshop at their headquarters on Cambridge Road Impington, which is leaking and badly in need of repairs.
Camtrust is a small charity and social enterprise based in Impington. It offers life and work skills for adults with disabilities, helping them to build skills for independent living. The charity is probably best known, in the village, for its refurbished bike sales and repairs.
The leaking roof was discovered recently and repairs are considered essential but very costly for the charity.

The Histon Beer festival is run by a team of volunteers and is hosted by the Red Lion pub in September every year. It raises thousands of pounds which are donated to local charities and good causes.

Please note that:
Camtrust could be flexible on the hours volunteered as long as we’re able to cover the full day.
The morning session is 9.30am-12.30pm and the afternoon session is 12.30pm-3.30pm.
Some of the mentioned activities have been put on hold due to COVID-19. This might be reviewed after the 19th July.
There are infection control measures in place as a result of COVID-19, including the requirement to wear a medical grade face mask whilst in the building and taking regular COVID-19 tests. Both of which will be supplied by Camtrust.
Any offers of a volunteering position would be subject to an introductory visit, Enhanced DBS check and induction.
