  • Choral Evensong

On 6 October 2019 at 6pm, Choral Evensong will resume at St Andrew’s Church, located on Church Street in Histon. A thrice-yearly event, which started in the autumn of 2017, St Andrew’s Evensong series is both a response to the growing popularity of the service in the UK, and also an outreach offering to our villages. If you haven’t yet experienced Evensong at Histon, consider taking an hour to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life, and round out your weekend with this beautiful and meditative service.

The Choral Evensong service at St Andrew’s includes all the usual ingredients one would find at a service at King’s College or Westminster Abbey.

Congregants can participate in the service to the extent that they wish, and are able: while the service sheet indicates that the congregation is invited to stand frequently, congregants may remain sitting if they choose.

The important thing is to take an hour out of your busy week to allow the music to wash over you and feed your spirit!

Dates for the 2019—2020 season of Choral Evensong at St Andrew’s, Histon are: 6 October, 9 February and 21 June, all at 6pm.

In addition, if you are a keen, experienced singer who reads music well, please inquire about joining us!
