  • Residents’ Memories of Histon and Impington

    Histon and Impington Village Society is holding a talk on Tuesday 28th March from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.

    There will be a panel of four local guest speakers who will give an insight into their memories of growing up and working in Histon and Impington. This will be followed by a fun and relaxed Question & Answer session where we hope audience members will share their own memories or ask questions of those who lived here when the villages were much smaller.

  • Cambridgeshire Geological Society Talk

    Cambridgeshire Geological Society is holding a talk on Monday 13th March from 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm) at the Saint Andrew’s Centre.

    The talk by Dr Owen Weller from the University of Cambridge is entitled “The geology of the Northwest Passage”. He will discuss a less well known feature of the fabled Northwest Passage: the four billion years of Earth history contained in the geology along the route. 

  • Netball Holiday Camp

    South Cambs District Council is running netball holiday camps on 5th and 6th April at Impington Village College Sports Centre.

    Receive coaching suitable for all abilities from those who are trying netball for the first time to those who already play.  The days will have fun games/activities in attacking and defending, along with learning the skills of shooting, footwork, passing and catching.

  • NCT Nearly New Sale

    The National Childbirth Trust is holding a sale on Saturday 11th March from 2pm at Impington Village College.

    Doors open 2pm (1.45pm for NCT members) until 4pm.

    As the new venue is smaller than our usual one, we are unable to accommodate prams and buggies – either to sell or for shoppers to bring into the sale hall.

    Histon Smokehouse will be celebrating International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8th March with music from around 7 – 9.30pm.

    Tam Cochrane will be on the decks playing Nina Simone, Nadine Shah, Ibeyi, and Erykah Badu just to name a few.

  • Engage: Community CPR and Defibrillator training

    Histon Library is running a session to show you how to perform effective CPR using a Defibrillator on Wednesday 15th March from 2 – 3pm.

    Delivered by Nicola Cooper, Magpas Air Ambulance Community Training and Engagement Officer.

    Donations towards refreshments welcome.

  • Tree Pruning

    If you’re interested in learning how to prune fruit trees, then there is a pruning session at the Community Orchard from 10am on Saturday 11th March.

    We’ll teach you all you need to know, and you can have a practice on the trees at the orchard. It’s a good opportunity to learn this skill.

    You’ll need:

    • Secateurs (essential)
    • Pruning saw (only if you have one)
    • Your own drinks and snacks.

  • Members’ Coffee Morning

    Histon and Impington Village Society is holding a members’ coffee morning on Saturday 25th February from 10am – 12pm at Histon Methodist Church.

    This is an opportunity to catch up with friends and meet other members. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served free of charge to members. Members of our history group will also be available to chat to anyone who is thinking about a research project.

  • Big Tidy Up

    There will be litter picking in Histon and Impington on Saturday 4th March.

    The organiser will be at the village car park on the High Street from 9am, assigning areas and giving out equipment and bags etc. Complimentary coffee and cake will be available from the Smokehouse opposite The Green from 10am to 12pm.
