Memories of Histon Road by Alison Wilson
The next Histon and Impington Village Society’s talk will be on Tuesday 30th November at 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.
Not so long ago Histon Road was a relatively minor road. In 2019 proposals from the Greater Cambridge Partnership to widen the road, change junctions and add floating bus stops made it clear that the last vestiges of the countryside would soon be swept away. It was a moment to capture the past. Alison Wilson will talk about the local initiative that recorded memories of local residents, a community of people with a fascinating history.
A wonderful book has now been published and the photographs and memories will form the basis of this talk.
To book a place at the talk please email handivsoc@gmail.com
Talks are free for members and £3.00 to non members.
