  • Cambridge Chocolate Festival hosted by Histon Smokehouse

    Histon Smokehouse is hosting Cambridgeshire’s first ever Chocolate Festival over Valentine’s weekend of 11th to 13th February.

    12th – Saturday brunch, touring, shopping and Valentine’s set menu in the evening

  • Community Breakfast

    Histon Salvation Army is holding its Community Breakfast and Coffee Morning on Saturday 19th February from 9.30 to 11.30am at its headquarters on Impington Lane.

  • Tree Planting

    Histon and Impington Trees Action Group are getting together on Saturday 29th January from 10am-1pm in front of the Holiday Inn.

    They have 100 trees to plant and lots of mulching to do. Everyone is welcome but children should be accompanied by an adult. Take a spade if you can but there will be some to borrow.

    There will be demonstrations on how to plant a tree throughout the session.

  • Hobson’s Brook and Conduit – Bringing Fresh Water into Cambridge since 1610

    Histon and Impington Village Society are holding a talk on February 22nd at 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church (TBC).

    This talk, given by one of Cambridge’s most experienced City Tourist Guides and a Trustee of the Conduit charity, Max Field, will take you back in time to understand the history of the brook in Histon.

  • Chivers and the Local Fruit Industry

    Histon & Impington Village Society will be holding its first talk of the year on 25th January at 7.30pm on Zoom.

    Jonathan Spain will consider the central role of Chivers in the development of the local fruit industry, from its origins in the last quarter of the 19th century through to its ultimate decline in the 1970s and 80s.

    Following feedback from members and committee, the Society has decided to hold the talk by Zoom. It will be followed by the Society’s Annual General Meeting but you are welcome to log off after the talk.

  • The Croft Close Set-Aside and a History Mystery

    Histon and Impington Women’s Institute is holding a presentation on Thursday 20th January 2022 at 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church Hall.

    Local resident Moira Neal will give a heavily illustrated, personal slide show about the development of this beautiful wild place in Histon.

  • Christmas Tree Chipping

    Christmas tree chipping will take place on Sunday 8th January 2023 at 8am. Trees for chipping should be left on the triangle of land near Villa Road and on the Green. They should not be left earlier than Saturday 7th January or left on the sites after this date.

  • The Dead of Cambridgeshire – HIAG Talk

    The next HIAG talk, to be held by Zoom on Monday 17th January at 7.30 p.m. will be ‘The Dead of Cambridgeshire: excavations at a Roman roadside settlement and an Anglo-Saxon cemetery‘ by David Ingham of Albion Archaeology.

    David will be talking about the findings from two recent excavations local excavations which produced substantial numbers of graves – a Roman site at Fenstanton and 5th-6th century burials from Newnham.

  • Christmas Karaoke – Rose and Crown

    Christmas Karaoke with Jaydee from 6.30pm on Saturday 18th December at the Rose & Crown.

  • WI Christmas Social Evening

    Histon and Impington Women’s Institute are holding a social evening on 16th December from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church Hall.

    There will be festive refreshments, carols, a Cinderella performance, a raffle and a quiz.
