    Kawaii Kubs are holding a play session on Sunday 17th July between 9am and 4pm at the Royal British Legion.

    Explore the Hawaiian sensory play trays, make sandcastles at the Kawaii beach! Make yummy playdough ice creams! Decorate post cards, dance the hula to bubbles and take your holiday snaps at the photo corner!

  • Flora of Croft Close Set-Aside

    Abbey Fields are holding a walk on Thursday 11th August from 10am to 12pm from the end of Croft Close.

    Dave Dives will show some of the interesting flora in the Croft Close Set-aside. Dave, a knowledgeable botanist, probably knows the flora of the Set-aside as well as anyone, having recorded  around 170 species there.

    Histon Library is holding an author event on Thursday 28th July from 10 to 11am.

    Charlie Bown will be reading poetry from her book “There’s a Poem in my Dungarees”.

  • Strictly Daylilies Open Garden Days

    Strictly Daylilies at 2 Primes Corner on the Cottenham Road are holding their 2022 Open Garden Days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 15 to 17 July at 9am-4pm.

    You will see close to 2000 different registered cultivars in their official American Hemerocallis Display Gardens and Historic Daylily Gardens as well as our National Collection of Modern Cultivars. Stroll through the hybridizing field and the greenhouse to see what new plants we are working with in their various programmes.  

    The Histon and Impington Village Society Archaeology Group will also be doing a test pit in the field on the same days.

    Plants available to buy Tea, coffee and cakes available.
    Dogs on lead are more than welcome.
    No on-site parking.

  • Creative Life Writing at Histon Library

    Histon library is offering a series of five free classes in creative life writing to celebrate life in Cambridgeshire.  The classes start on 13th July from 11am-1pm, and will run for five weeks.

    The five classes are aimed at helping local people to explain and celebrate in writing their experiences of life in the county. Participants will be taught some of the elements of creative writing to help make their stories come alive.

    Histon Library is holding a talk on “Domestic Violence against Women and the Work of Cambridge Women’s Aid” on Wednesday 20th July from 2pm.

    The talk will be by Rachel Scott, trustee of Cambridge Women’s Aid. There will be refreshments available.

    Histon and Impington Feast present an evening of music on Saturday 9th July from 8pm at Saint Andrew’s Church, Histon.

    Music from the Moonlight Mandolins and the Harmonia Singers.

    As part of Histon and Impington Feast week, there will be cream teas being served at Saint Andrew’s Church, Histon, on Saturday 2nd July from 2.30 – 5pm.

    Close to the Flower Festival, this event will take place on the Stable Room lawn.
