    Regular working parties will get together at Croft Close Set-Aside in October.

    All work parties will have a mix of activities, from light trimming to heavier manual work so there should be something for most, but not, on this occasion, young families.

  • Cambridge Quilters

    Cambridge Quilters

    Cambridge Quilters have a Zoom talk on Wednesday 9th November at 7pm.

    Gillian Travis’s “A Journey in Stitch” will lead us around the world illustrated with photos of her work. Images from her travels inform her research into ethnic embroidery and often develop into new quilts using fabric, paint and stitch.

    Visitors can attend the meeting at the cost of £5 payable on the door.

    Histon and Impington Garden Club is holding a talk on Tuesday 8th November from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.

    In his talk “The Recycled Farm”, Michael Watson will share how in his first year at Abbey Farm he has worked on regenerating its unique natural environment.

  • Memories of the Falklands War

    The Cambridge branch of the Norton Owners Club is holding a talk on Friday 4th November from 7.30pm at the Royal British Legion hall.

    The talk (including slide show and memorabilia) is by Martin Howell, a member of the Cambridge branch of the Norton Owners Club that meet once a month at the Red Lion PH.

    40 years ago, Martin was located in The Falklands Islands serving his country on Royal Fleet Auxiliary RFA Sir Lancelot. Hear Martin recount his experiences and recollections of 40 years ago and his return trips to The Falkland Islands in recent years.

  • Biodiversity Workshop

    Histon and Impington Parish Council is holding a talk about biodiveristy in the village on Wednesday 2nd November from 7.45pm at the Recreation Ground Community Room.

    The Parish Council would love your views on sites for biodiversity improvements. Such as no-mow verges, wildflower meadows, wetlands, community gardens and more.  Everyone very welcome, whether you are a wildlife enthusiast or just keen to know what this is all about.

    Histon Handmade, the contemporary design and craft fair, will be held on Saturday 26th November from 12 to 7pm at the Saint Andrew’s Centre, Histon.

    After a couple of years on hold, Histon Handmade is holding its sixth event with another exceptional line up of 23 leading local designers/makers.

    Cambridgeshire Music are holding a pantomime themed workshop on 27th and 28th October from 10am to 3pm at their centre in New School Road.

    Come and join a two day Pantomime themed workshop, exploring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk through singing, music and dance and earn at Arts Award Discover Certificate.

    Open to students in Years 5 to 7.
