  • History of Abbey Farmhouse and the ‘Recycled Farm’

    Histon and Impington Village Society is holding a talk on Tuesday 25th April from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.

    Michael Watson, owner of Abbey Farm, will share some of his discoveries about the history of the farmhouse and bring us up to date with this extraordinary project.

  • Coronation Screening

    Histon and Impington Salvation Army will be showing the Coronation of King Charles live on the Big Screen on Saturday 6th May.

    Take a seat, have a cuppa, relax and enjoy sharing together on this historic occasion.

    Watch in the Main Hall or in the Community Hall/Garden. Come as you are or dress up if you wish.

  • Wellbeing Festival

    HI Friends is running a Wellbeing Festival from Saturday 22nd April through until Monday 8th May. The programme will include 34 different activities, events and workshops focused on all aspects of wellbeing.

  • Easter Book Trail

    Histon Library is running an Easter Book Trail which will be in place from Saturday 1st until Sunday 16th April, supported by Histon and Impington Library Friends (HILF).

    Follow your own route on a map to find books about birds in windows around the village.

    Entry forms £1 from the library or Topiary Tree. Take your completed forms to the library by Friday 21st April and they will draw out the lucky winners of Easter eggs kindly donated by the Co Op.

  • Children’s April Nature Hunt on Long Meadow

    Abbey Fields is holding a Nature Hunt on Sunday 16th April from 10am to 12.30pm at Long Meadow, Park Lane.

    Also incudes a free Activity Tent with play doh for younger children, a range of delicious cakes and new Abbey Fields cards for sale.

    There will also be a small challenge for the whole family which you can start any time. Can you help us build up a poetry display by bringing along your poem(s) to add to our collection. We are looking for acrostic nature poems using the initial letters of the words ABBEY FIELDS or LONG MEADOW. Download instructions and a form to complete here. We will be adding poems to the display during the event so you can be inspired to write on the day too.

    We recommend that you walk in through the slightly wider entrance to Long Meadow opposite Melvin Way. Please come dressed for the weather and the rough grass. Note, there is no car parking here.

  • WI April Meeting

    Histon and Impington Women’s Institute is holding a talk on Thursday 20th April from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.

    Ian Cummings, the “Bake Off” runner up to Nadiya Hussain, will talk about his time on the “Great British Bake Off”.

    Runs “off road” for all the family at the Recreation Ground from 9.30am on Monday 1st May, registration on the day from 8.45am and medals for under 14s.

  • Family Workshop

    Histon and Impington Library Friends (HILF) is sponsoring a drawing/writing workshop on Wednesday 5th April from 11am – 12.15pm at Histon Library.

    The session is based on Elena Arevalo Melville’s book “Umbrella”.

    Suitable for children aged 3 – 7 years. Please book a space at the library.

  • Easter Egg Hunt

    St Andrew’s Church Histon is holding an Easter Egg Hunt with bouncy castle on Easter Sunday from 2-4pm (Under 5s) and 4-6pm (Ages 6+).

    All families are welcome to join us on Easter Day for fun in the church garden. We’ve got Dotty the Donkey’s Easter Trail around the church yard, a bouncy castle and slide, making, playing and hunting for Easter eggs too. We’ll have a short story time before sharing out all the eggs we find. There will be tea and coffee too.
