H&I Village Society May Talk

Histon and Impington Village Society are holding a talk on Tuesday 31st May from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.

The talk entitled “๐—จ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜€ S๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด D๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€” will be given by Nigel Fenner.

Victorian social history in Cambridge is widely documented, but this talk is one with an exceptional difference. Nigel Fenner helps shed new light on a little researched aspect of Cambridge during this period, helping us understand what a crucial role sport played in bringing the town and gown together during the Victorian era. He will also talk on how the Cambridge Fennerโ€™s cricket ground came to fruition following the escapades on Parker Piece.
