Grayston Burgess Memorial Concert
Present and former members of Choir 2000 will perform a concert in memory of the late Grayston Burgess, its first musical director.
Grayston lived in retirement in Histon after an international singing career. In the year 2000 he initially took on the challenge of performing a concert to celebrate the Millennium with a group of people, many of whom had very little or no experience in singing classical music. Very soon the group decided to continue after the ‘Concert for the Millennium’ and established itself as Choir 2000. During his seven years as Musical Director Grayston was instrumental in laying the foundations for its continued success and we wish to honour his memory with a selection of music we performed under his baton.
Grayston Burgess was also choirmaster for St Andrew’s Church Choir.
