Defibrillator Training
The Community Heartbeat Trust will be providing training on the use of the newly installed Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) at 11.00am is now scheduled for Saturday 30th January 2021 at the Baptist Church.
There is no charge for the training, which will take just over one hour, and anyone in the Histon and Impington community is welcome to attend. With the current Covid19 restrictions the numbers will be limited to 15 people.
The church has Covid secure measures in place for groups currently using the church buildings, which would include the AED training. To book your place for the training, please contact George Voyias on either 01223 560255 or ‘g.voyias@ntlworld.com’.
While people may feel more comfortable having training on how to use one, this is not a requirement and in an emergency all you need to do is turn it on (usually by just opening the lid) and follow the voice instructions. It is impossible to harm a casualty using a public access defibrillator as it only shocks them if they have a medical need for it.
