Histon and Impington Green Spaces (HIGS), the charity behind the Abbey Fields project, is looking for volunteers to form three teams: Education and Learning opportunities, Research Monitoring and Advice, and Site Management.
A vacancy has arisen on the Parish Council following the resignation of Ros Hathorn as a Parish Councillor.
The Parish Council hope to fill this vacancy by co-option at the next meeting on 20th September 2021. If you would be interested in being considered for this opportunity, please can you write or email by 17th September with your brief reasons for wishing to stand. If more than one applicant comes forward there would be a vote amongst the existing Council members to fill the position.
Full Council meetings are held the third Monday monthly and there are other Committees and Working Parties you can join if you wish.

The Firs House Surgery are looking for volunteer marshals to help with the coming autumn flu vaccination programme. They are planning for 5 weekend days in September/October and are looking for volunteers to do a morning (8am to 12.30pm) or afternoon (1.30-4.30pm) shift.

Cambridge Primary Education Trust (CPET), who have 5 schools, including the Infant and Junior Schools that will become the Histon and Impington Park Primary School and Histon and Impington Brook Primary School through primary schools in September 2021, are looking for this new voluntary roles.
Chair of the Board of Trustees (Voluntary Role) to replace the current Chair who is standing down at the end of their term of office in December 2021, and the Trust is seeking to ideally appoint a new Chair from the new school year commencing September 2021, to coincide with the start of the school year and ensure a handover is in place. This is an opportunity to participate in an exciting development in primary education, both in relation to the development and execution of CPET’s strategic direction and in day-to-day responses to the overall evolving context of education and community. This includes supporting a balanced growth agenda and adjusting to the operational impact and lessons learnt from Covid-19.
Camtrust is a local charity specialising in life skills for adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. They offer a wide range of programmes and activities teaching skills for independent living, helping clients feel confident in their abilities and reach their potential.
As a small charity, Camtrust relies on its excellent team of volunteers and trustees and they are looking for several new volunteers to support clients in their day-to-day learning. Monday to Friday, 9.30am – 3.30pm. 1 day a week on a regular basis.

Some of the mentioned activities have been put on hold due to COVID-19. This might be reviewed after the 19th July.
There are infection control measures in place as a result of COVID-19, including the requirement to wear a medical grade face mask whilst in the building and taking regular COVID-19 tests. Both of which will be supplied by Camtrust.
Any offers of a volunteering position would be subject to an introductory visit, Enhanced DBS check and induction.

HI Friends are looking for Volunteer Marshals for a 2/3 hour period on the morning of Sunday 20th June to help with the organisation of the Flaming June Half Marathon directing the runners and making sure the event can happen safely.
Without the extremely valuable help of so many volunteers, HI Friends wouldn’t be able run these events and raise funds for local activities and initiatives.
