The Impington Music Society (IMS) runs small concerts and recitals featuring a range of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians, and offers performance opportunities for local musicians embarking on their professional career. They arrange about 8 concerts a year, on Friday evenings at Impington Village College (IVC), and cover a wide range of music.
They are looking for more helpers in two areas:
- Occasional practical help on concert evenings.
This can be anything from helping to set out the chairs before the concert, putting up signs, handing out programmes, showing people where they can get refreshments in the interval, and making sure that we leave the place tidy at the end – depending on your time availability and preference. There is no need to volunteer for every concert; even if you are only available for one or two events, that will be a great help for our regular team! - Running the IMS.
Behind the scenes, our informal team of volunteers looks after the organisation of the IMS, and they would like some reinforcement to help them plan future concerts, set up ticketing and marketing or look after our very basic website and social media presence. It is quite a wide range of jobs which we share between us depending on people’s interests and available time.
