H&I Village Society May Talk
Histon and Impington Village Society are holding a talk on Tuesday 31st May from 7.30pm at Histon Methodist Church.
The talk entitled “๐จ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐ถ๐๐ S๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด D๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐” will be given by Nigel Fenner.
Victorian social history in Cambridge is widely documented, but this talk is one with an exceptional difference. Nigel Fenner helps shed new light on a little researched aspect of Cambridge during this period, helping us understand what a crucial role sport played in bringing the town and gown together during the Victorian era. He will also talk on how the Cambridge Fennerโs cricket ground came to fruition following the escapades on Parker Piece.
Tickets are free for Village Society Members, and cost ยฃ3 for non-Members. You can either attend in-person or watch on Zoom. Please book via the Eventbrite link; https://www.eventbrite.com/…/h-i-village-society-may…or email handivsoc@gmail.com for more information.
