Swish!
Swishing is coming to Histon!
Everyone is invited to Histon’s first Swish (clothes swapping party) being organised by Histon and Impington Sustainability Group for Saturday 5 October, 11am-1.15pm at St Andrew’s Centre. 30% of our clothes are never worn so why not swap them for something new to you? The clothing industry accounts for around 10% of global greenhouse emissions and is the world’s second biggest industrial polluter, so swapping is a brilliant way to help cut your footprint.
Women’s, men’s and children’s clothes and accessories must be in good, clean condition. You can bring and take as much as you like, entry is free but donations to Histon and Impington Sustainability Group will be welcomed. There will be homemade cake, teas etc to enjoy whilst your clothes are being sorted between 11am-11.45am.
The Cambridge Community Wardrobe Swish Kit will be launched at the event, thanks to generous funding from South Cambridge District Council’s Community Chest Grant. The Swish Kit can be borrowed by local groups interested in hosting their own clothes swapping parties – come and talk to us if you are curious. Any queries about Histon’s first Swish, please email nicole@cambridgecarbonfootprint.org
